The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a School Receptionist to join our friendly, hard-working Administration Team. You will need strong interpersonal skills to help coordinate school events and develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including parents. This role will suit a highly motivated, organised individual with an understanding of policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality and data protection.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Within this role you will be responsible for:

• Running the school office and reception desk

• Maintaining and updating the SIMS database

• Recording attendance and following up on absences

• Meeting and greeting school visitors

• Answering the telephone and directing calls accordingly

• Responding to emails

• Preparing weekly newsletter 

• Dealing with admissions queries

• Managing the school calendar

• Dealing with general enquiries from students, staff, parents and members of the public

• Ordering stationery

• Any other ad hoc admin duties

To be considered for this position, you will have previous school and SIMs experience, excellent customer service and IT skills with outstanding written and spoken English.

• Ability to adhere to working procedures and policies within the school environment. 

• Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.

• Appreciation of issues of confidentiality.

• Ability to work as team player and to foster good working relationships with a variety of different people in the Trust.

• Good telephone manner, email etiquette and presentation of professional image

• Good organisational and interpersonal skills which indicate a warm, efficient and hospitable manner to all.

• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
