Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a committed and talented Science-based Learning Mentor to join our team.

We are looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Science Learning Mentor to work primarily with the Science department throughout our Secondary Academy to support the social, emotional and mental health wellbeing of our pupils. Your role will include one-to-one and small-group mentoring and support to improve academic progress and learning, including delivering a range of teaching and learning interventions to targeted pupils.

To be successful, you will:

  • Have experience of working with children and families in overcoming barriers to learning
  • Be able to work closely with staff and outside agencies to ensure children at Nottingham Academy have excellent provision
  • Promote self-esteem and confidence and help children to become emotionally healthy
  • Have high expectations of yourself, striving for the best in everything you do
  • Be an enthusiastic, committed and ambitious team player, open to learning and professional development
