Job overview

This varied role would suit a proactive individual, with an interest and knowledge of science, who would enjoy the challenge of working in a busy school environment, setting up, clearing away, testing and fixing equipment for use by others.

Although scientific knowledge, experience in laboratory work and computing skills would be preferable, they are not essential as training will be given. It is more important that the person appointed is able to work well as part of our team, organise their time appropriately and has a sense of humour.

Faringdon Community College (FCC) is a successful and well-established 11-18 co-educational secondary comprehensive school, which embraces the idea of lifelong learning and community education. As a dynamic organisation, we are always looking for new ideas and ways forward. Our strong and motivated team of teaching and non-teaching staff are committed to providing the best education they can and have an energy and enthusiasm which makes FCC a rewarding place to work.

Benefits of working at FCC include:

·         Full support for your professional development and future training needs.

·         A commitment to recognise previous, continuous service.

·         A commitment to offer flexible working wherever we can, to support the work life balance of our employees.

·         A cycle to work scheme.

·         A 24/7 employee assistance programme.

Ofsted report

“There has been a strong focus on raising the quality of teaching and the proportion of good or better lessons is increasing. Most teaching is good and some is outstanding. Excellent relationships between teachers and students, and between students themselves, contribute to a positive atmosphere for learning and there is very good individual support for students in lessons."
