We are an Ofsted Good rated, 11-18 academy, with a thriving sixth form and a campus undergoing a transformation, based in the friendly, South Yorkshire town of Doncaster.
We are proud to say that our recent OFSTED inspection in 2024 cited that the school is a 'Good' school, identifying how the school is an 'inclusive school' where 'pupils of every background are provided with the opportunities they need to be successful.' We value our staff highly, and have established a truly supportive environment where staff training and well being is at the heart of all we do. We are focused on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.
We are proud to have been awarded Bronze Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award and to have received the IQM Award, which highlights our commitment to inclusion. We have also recently achieved our Eco Schools award along with our Leading the Way award for meeting all eight Gastsby Benchmarks to support employability for our students.
We believe we are on a journey towards Outstanding. Help to take us to the next level.
We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

Our warm, friendly and professional Humanities department is looking for a new Second in Department, on the geography side of the faculty. At Outwood Academy Danum, the Humanities team is respected and valued, with good relationships with the senior leadership team and the students who learn in our classrooms every day. Our Humanities team comprises History and Geography, with a Head of Faculty (History specialist) and a Second in Department (Geography Specialist). You would be joining a department which achieves outcomes at GCSE that are above the national average for Progress Eight. We are in the business of creating brilliant historians and geographers, creating curious and engaged students who question the world around them. Come and help us shape their futures, polish their skills, develop their knowledge and understanding.
We are proud of our work here, where we support each other and work in a way which benefits staff and students alike. We aim to constantly develop and improve our approach to teaching and learning, and to enriching the experience of students. We strive to create brilliant historians and geographers. In order to achieve this we talk as a team regularly about our approach, and encourage each other, support each other and improve together as a team.
Colleagues in the Humanities department at Outwood Academy Danum work in a culture of openness, while holding consistently high standards through an agreed approach, into which we have all had input. The team are encouraged to contribute in a range of ways, and in particular to organise and support school visits in all year groups. Staff here feel valued, listened to and supported, and they want the best for students. All staff have opportunities to develop their careers and are encouraged to take on a range of responsibilities when they are ready; ultimately though, being the best teacher you can be is what we ask.
The Humanities department is influential in supporting the academy with whole school CPD on topics like memory retrieval and collaborative learning, and across the Trust on Key Stage 3 assessment, raising Key Stage 4 attainment and effective use of homework.
We would love to hear from teachers interested in creating a warm, interesting and inclusive learning environment, where students feel safe and inspired. Are you dedicated, with a sense of humour? Are you keen to work with a team on planning great learning experiences and contributing to a culture of improvement and development? Our academy is the place for you!
