You will also support staff in mainstream schools, ensuring that they have the confidence and skills to develop children with social, emotional and mental health needs.

You need to be well organised and above all, an amazing communicator and skilled practitioner.

We welcome informal discussions and visits - please contact Neal Collard (Head of School or Andrew Ryan (Head of Outreach).

Waterside is a Social Emotional and Behavioural Special Primary School (SEBD) , that aims to offer each and every super hero an opportunity to develop their talents and interests, celebrate their communities and ensure that they have the skills necessary to embrace the world and succeed.

There are three distinct sections to Waterside – Outreach, Nest and the School.

Outreach

We have a highly experienced team who, following a referral from one of our partner schools within the borough, will support both the pupil and school in dealing with any difficulties they may have.

Our team help with the following:

• behaviour management

• combating disaffection

• SEN, SEBD

• learning efficiency and behaviour policy

• classroom management and behavioural management analysis

• INSET

• staff support

• NQT training

• Restraint/Handling training

This work is closely monitored and we hope that this short term intervention will support the pupil and their school.

Nest Provision

Sometimes schools may exclude a pupil due to their behaviour. We understand that this is distressing for the pupil, their family and the school, but we work with all parties to ensure that the pupil is prepared and able to return to their school.

Waterside

Sometimes, after all the interventions have been put in place, mainstream primary school just does not work for that pupil. In that case, and following a statement of educational need, they may be admitted to the main school.

We aim to provide quality learning experiences for our children - learning which is structured, balanced and relevant to the child. We aim to provide a safe and secure environment in which your child feels happy, confident and stimulated to learn whilst having fun.
