Job overview

The SENCO Department

At Advance Learning Partnership we aim to ensure that all Academies have access to:

• High quality, dedicated SENCO time

• A specialist team who focus on SEND needs

• An Occupational therapy service

• Support from external agencies

• High quality continuous professional development of SEND

We recognise and celebrate every individual and strive to advance together to create an inclusive and safe community.

We work closely with local authorities and ensure that all aspects of SEND align with statutory expectations for SEND.

In School support

All schools have a nominated SENDCO who coordinates the work of their support team and teaching staff to meet the needs of all children. In addition, schools across our Trust employ a range of Teaching Assistants and support staff to further meet the needs of children.

If your child has additional needs, SEND leadership in academies will place a child or young person onto a SEND register, which will identify their needs to raise awareness and share information with teachers.

Each of those pupils will then have personalised targets to support them in making progress and so that achievement of children with SEND can be recognised and celebrated, as well as being able to ensure we identify where progress is not being made so that relevant action can be take
