Senior School Caretaker

We are looking for dedicated and reliable staff to join our Premises Team. The successful candidates will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our school by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Role of the Senior Caretaker - hours 6.30am to 1.30pm (35 hours per week, 50 weeks per year)

In this role as a School Caretaker, you will help provide a safe, efficient and effective learning and working environment for students and staff and help in maintaining high standards and contribute to the aims of the school. The school needs a School Caretaker who possesses a proven track record of providing top-quality and efficient site maintenance ideally within a school setting and competency in DIY skills.

The role also currently requires overtime to cover our long established community lettings.

Key Responsibilities

• Good Timekeeping: Arriving on time to manage the daily opening of the school.
• Reliability: Consistently dependable, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Porterage: Lifting and carrying equipment, furniture, and other items as needed around the school.
• Maintenance Tasks: Performing a range of general maintenance tasks, including painting, basic repairs, and ensuring the school premises are in excellent condition.

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS Check: The successful candidate will undergo an Enhanced DBS Check, including a barred list check.
• A proactive and hands-on approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience of working in a school environment (preferable but not essential)
• Knowledge of site maintenance
• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
