Our Organisation 

Nelson and Colne College Group is made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning and Accrington & Rossendale College. Our College Group is now the only Further Education college in Lancashire to be graded as ‘Outstanding’ under the new Ofsted inspection framework.

The Exciting Role 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, competent and highly motivated Senior Events Lead to join our close-knit Marketing and Admissions team on a fixed-term basis.

Working in a busy and varied environment; the successful candidate will develop and execute strategic plans for all internal and external events considering objectives, target audience and desired outcomes. They will manage events budgets, ensuring impact and efficiency at every stage of event planning and execution, and will liaise with Marketing Manager, Head of Communications and Senior Design Lead to ensure exciting and engaging brand and customer experience consistency at every stage of an event.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record planning, executing and analysing events, utilising data to inform future activities and will have experience managing stakeholders at all levels to ensure effective event delivery.

The role will be primarily based at our Lancashire Adult Learning campus however, travel across sites will be required.

What You Will Be Doing:

  •  Coordinating the annual events calendar liaising with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Communicating with key stakeholders for every event to ensure consistency of delivery.
  • Leading event working groups to plan and deliver the Group’s event portfolio.
  • Coordinating the workflow of the Events Assistant to ensure that objectives are met at all times.
  • Undertaking analysis of each event (quality of attendees, overall registrations, daily execution, performance etc) with full understanding of data, to measure and analyse each event’s impact in order to effectively inform future events.
  • Ensuring a consistent presence at all offsite events.
  • Ensuring events align with organisational communication plans and recommendations to enhance effectiveness.
  • Establishing and maintaining event management best practices, policies and operating procedures.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • Relevant Degree Level Qualification in a relevant field
  • Proven track record planning, executing and analysing events, utilising data to inform future activities
  • Proven track record managing, forecasting and reporting on event budgets to ensure maximum cost-effectiveness
  • Experience managing stakeholders at all levels to ensure effective event delivery

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
