Thomas Tallis is a flourishing and popular school situated in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. We currently have over 2000 pupils on the school roll with around 700 students in our highly competitive sixth form. We strive for excellence in all that we do underpinned by our vision of education to understand the world and change it for the better.

We wish to appoint an outstanding professional to join a large, successful science department. You will manage a team of experienced technicians and lead on the assessment, monitoring and review of health and safety procedures as dictated by CLEAPPS advice and COSHH regulations. You will also take a lead role in the design, development and maintenance of specialist resources and long-term projects.


We are looking for someone who:

  •  can effectively lead a team of technicians providing technical advice and training as required
  • can demonstrate initiative to find solutions to complex problems
  • has a good understanding of regulations in relation to science laboratories and chemical storage
  • is reliable and committed with a proven track record as a Science Technician

Located in Kidbrooke, south-east London, Thomas Tallis School is a large co-educational secondary school providing places to pupils aged 11-18. The school was originally founded in 1971. In 2012 it moved into a brand-new purpose-built building on the site of a former airfield.

With capacity for around 2,000 students, Thomas Tallis is larger than the average secondary school. It operates a large sixth form, welcoming students who have come up through Thomas Tallis School, as well as pupils from other schools in the local area.
