St. Norbert’s Catholic Voluntary Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to join our team. If you have a strong background in premises management and are ready to take responsibility for the care and upkeep of our school, we’d love to hear from you!


This is a permanent, full-time position with a 37-hour working week, covering both mornings and evenings. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, maintaining legal compliance, and overseeing the smooth operation of essential systems like fire and burglar alarms, lighting, and heating. In addition, you will oversee cleaning, plant maintenance, porterage, lettings, and general site upkeep, including semi-skilled maintenance work and contractor management.

About the Role:

As Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to manage school access, ensuring gates are opened and secured at appropriate times.
  • Supporting staff with lunchtime resources and overseeing cleaning services.
  • Independently addressing maintenance tasks with a proactive and methodical approach, ensuring health, safety, and safeguarding standards are upheld.
  • Learning and developing new skills, and sharing your expertise with colleagues.
  • Handling competing demands with flexibility and clear communication.
  • Playing a key role in ensuring compliance and maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for our school’s facilities.
  • Carrying out general building repairs and supporting contractors where necessary.
  • Collaborating with the Headteacher, the Trust Director, and the Trust Central Team to deliver a high-quality learning environment.


A solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively across the school community.
