Job overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, working closely with a small group of pupils (maximum class size of four) who have significant needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Global Developmental Delay
- Low Cognitive Function
Key aspects of the role are
•To provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Assist with differentiated learning activities designed to meet the pupils' cognitive, social, and emotional needs.
- Implement strategies to support communication, sensory processing, and emotional regulation for pupils with autism and developmental delays.
- Support the creation of a structured, predictable, and low-stimulus classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Work closely with the class teacher and therapists to deliver integrated support, including speech, occupational, and behavioural therapies.
- Monitor and document progress and behaviours, contributing to assessments and reviews of EHCPs.
- Promote positive interactions and social engagement among pupils.
