Millfield School is looking to recruit a Specialist Ballet Coach from September 2024.

The Specialist Ballet Coach will deliver specialist RAD Ballet coaching as part of the Millfield Dance Programme, which involves over 100 students participating in a choice of 38 sessions per week. Classical Ballet is taught from Grades 5-8, plus free and pointe work classes. Vocational grades may also be required.

The Specialist Ballet Coach will coach across all age groups from year 9 to 13 with a particular focus on our advanced ballet students. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified and experienced RAD Ballet Teacher with the ability to inspire and engage students in Classical and Contemporary Ballet through detailed knowledge and a passion for ballet in education.

The role is for 7 hours per week. Ballet sessions are held on a Wednesday afternoon 12.30 - 5.30pm, and Tuesday 4 – 6 pm or Wednesday 12.30 – 6.30pm and one lunchtime session. This is a term-time only position and there is some flexibility in the teaching hours for the right candidate. The salary is £5,631.51 per annum (inclusive of holiday pay).

About us

Millfield is an independent boarding school with outstanding pastoral and co-curricular activities set in the heart of Somerset. We cater for approximately 1,300 pupils aged 13 to 18, all of whom are engaged in sport and physical activities. Millfield Prep School is located four miles away in the bustling town of Glastonbury, catering to a further 350 pupils from ages 7 to 13. Both schools have outstanding facilities and a vibrant multisport environment.
