We have an exciting opportunity at our City Campus to join our Supported Learning Department as a Specialist SEND Support Practitioner on a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) basis.
The Supported Learning Department continues to experience significant growth being the number one choice for the majority of High Needs and students with SEND across Greater Manchester.
As directed by the Head of Additional Learning Support the SSSP will meet with students and SSPs and assist in the coordination of the support needs of individual learners, ensuring that they receive high quality, efficient value for money support, which promotes independence and the achievement of both vocational and Preparation for Adulthood Outcomes.
In order to do this, you will need:
- Minimum Level 3 Learning Support qualification or willingness to achieve within an agreed period or Minimum of a Level 3 Specialist support qualification in two specialist support areas (or willingness to achieve within an agreed period)
- Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
- Willingness to work towards a secondary specialist support area at minimum Level 3
- Experience in a vocational field beyond education/industrial/service sector experience
- Experience and knowledge, empathy and understanding of the specific issues relating to the education of young people and adults who have sensory, physical impairments or other specific learning difficulties gained within an educational or care sector setting
- Experienced and competent in the use of as Microsoft Office Suite and its accessibility features
- Significant experience of working with students with EHCPs in a further education setting is essential
