Job overview

We’re looking for a dynamic Speech and Debate Coach to join our Shanghai team and help elevate the next generation of top-tier debaters. This role is designed for individuals who have a passion for competitive debate and speech, thrive on the excitement of molding future champions, and are driven by the ambition to innovate in the field.


What You’ll Do:

  • Mentorship: Guide students to sharpen their critical thinking and argumentation skills while fostering a love for debate. You'll coach students ranging from beginners to top competitors, ensuring they’re ready to excel in locally and internationally.
  • Program Advocate: Act as an ambassador for ENREACH’s Speech and Debate program. You’ll play a key role in building awareness, generating interest, and making our program the most sought-after extracurricular activity in the city.
  • Competition Preparation: Prepare students for competitive success, from research and case writing to mock rounds and feedback sessions. You’ll attend tournaments with your students to provide real-time coaching and strategic guidance.
  • Community Building: Foster a vibrant debate culture within the program. Encourage students to engage deeply with current events, build confidence in public speaking, and think critically about the world.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Debate Expertise: Significant experience in competitive debate or speech, preferably at a high level such as NSDA Nationals, or equivalent prestigious events.
  • Coaching Experience: Demonstrated success coaching debate teams or individual students, with a track record of achieving results in competitive environments.
  • Cultural Adaptability: Comfortable working in Shanghai, embracing its unique cultural dynamics, and committed to inspiring students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to give constructive feedback, inspire students, and collaborate with other educators.
