The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join our team, working during term time. The successful candidate will support students aged 6 to 30 with a variety of disabilities.
Key responsibilities:
Individual and Group Therapy: Provide one-on-one and small group therapy sessions, tailored to the individual needs of each student.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to create comprehensive support plans and have a better understanding of the student’s behaviors, needs and potential goals
Educational Support: Model strategies for class teachers and teaching assistants to integrate into the classroom environment.
Resource Development: Create resources for the therapy team to support speech and language development.
Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students' speech, language, and communication needs, and develop evidence-based therapy programs.
Technology: be up to date on assistive technology and proactive in introducing new technology
Safeguarding Commitment: Strong understanding of and commitment to safeguarding practices.
Therapy Delivery: Proven ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate therapy programs for various speech, language, and communication needs.
Case Management: Experience managing a caseload of children with conditions such as ASD, global developmental delay, and other related needs.
Team Participation: Preparedness to actively participate in team meetings and parent meetings, including but not limited to IEP meetings and annual reviews.
Effective Communication: Strong communication skills to develop effective working relationships with school staff and provide relevant therapeutic training.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Speech and Language Therapy
DHA license will be required or DHA eligibility letter
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passionate about working with diverse populations and age groups.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
