Job overview

We are seeking to appoint from September 2024, a passionate and dedicated Netball coach to help develop and grow the Netball programme at Farnborough Hill. Netball is a very popular sport, and we are looking for a team member who can help improve participation and performance across the school.

The main responsibility of the role is to provide high quality Netball coaching sessions for girls of all ability levels, across the full age range of the school (11-18). This is a part-time (approximately 20 – 25 hours per week spread over five days), term time only, one-year contract role and would involve the delivery of sessions within timetabled games lessons, as well as coaching and umpiring school teams in after school clubs and fixtures. Successful candidates would also be expected to contribute to the delivery of other activities within the PE curriculum where necessary, particularly in the Summer Term.

We offer a competitive salary, free on-site parking, and remission of fees for a daughter attending the School, in line with the current policy, subject to the usual standards and procedures for admission.

This is an opportunity to work in a highly regarded and successful girls’ independent school with motivated pupils and a very supportive ethos.

For further details of the post and the School, and to apply, please visit our website, www.farnborough-hill.org, telephone 01252 545197 or email: HMSec@farnborough-hill.org

Please apply as soon as possible as applications will be considered upon receipt; we reserve the right to interview/appoint before the closing date.

Closing date: 9.00 am on Wednesday 31 July 2024 – however, if you are interested in applying for the role, please submit your application as early as possible, as it will be considered upon receipt.

Interviews: Interviews will take place on a rolling basis and may take place prior to the closing date.

Farnborough Hill, founded in 1889, is a leading Catholic independent day school for around 570 girls aged 11 - 18 years. The School welcomes girls of all faiths and none, who are happy to support the ethos. Located on the Hampshire/Surrey border, the School has excellent transport links, both by train and road, while enjoying a beautiful and inspiring setting in over 65 acres of parkland.

Farnborough Hill is a vibrant community. The vision for pupils is simple: to help them become the very best version of themselves. Teachers believe in the gifts and talents of each individual and value the uniqueness of each person. From this diversity and belief comes a unity of purpose: to develop young women, each strong, compassionate and courageous, each going into the world to play a positive role.

Farnborough Hill girls are engaged, committed and fun-loving. They are achievers but not paralysed by perfectionism. They are risk-takers and carers. These fabulous girls are buoyed up by all the adults at Farnborough Hill, each in their specific role, sharing responsibility for the development of character and nurturing the spirit of the girls in their care.

Superb resources and facilities combined with the energy and expertise of highly-motivated staff ensure that the girls have the opportunities and self-belief to succeed in a wide variety of fields. This is a place where pupils thrive, are nourished, and are allowed to develop their individual character before launching into the world as agents of change.
