We are looking to appoint a Student Support Assistant to support students to overcome the barriers of attending school and lessons by working with students, staff, parents/carers and external agencies. These barriers would include factors such as medical, social, behavioural, emotional and Mental Health issues. The work of the Student Support Department is to promote inclusion of all students and their families. Applicants should have the skills and a proven record in administration and the ability to be flexible. Please note candidates are welcome to come and have an informal conversation with the department if they would like to do so, prior to interview.

Edgbarrow School believes in setting the highest standards in all areas of school life and we are looking for a purposeful and committed individual who wants to join and enhance our strong team. We offer an excellent induction programme, promotion prospects and a highly supportive working environment. The Student Support Assistant role would also qualify in the admissions process for your child to attend Edgbarrow if you live out of catchment. This would come into operation after two years of service.

Edgbarrow is located in the village of Crowthorne, Berkshire. It is a thriving, vibrant and high-achieving secondary school where students are polite, happy, well behaved and motivated. Crowthorne is located approximately three miles from Wokingham and Camberley and 12 miles from Reading. It enjoys excellent links to surrounding villages, towns and cities via the M3, M4 A329M, and local rail networks.

If you are interested in joining Edgbarrow School and you have the skills and the qualities required for this post, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Employment is with Corvus Learning Trust and not Bracknell Forest Council. The trust is very popular and for most posts a large number of applications are received - it is therefore not possible to notify all applicants of the outcome. Please accept that if you have not heard within three weeks of the closing date then, unfortunately, your application has been unsuccessful - in which case we offer our best wishes for the future.

For further information regarding the school please see www.edgbarrowschool.co.uk

To apply for this post please complete the online application form via TES.

Closing Date: Friday 8 November 2024.

Please note that all applications will be considered upon receipt. We reserve the right to close the advert early should the right candidate apply.

Edgbarrow School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It is essential that all members of staff and volunteers share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for all posts.
