Job overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Study Support Coach to join our team. In this vital role, you will promote inclusion and support the learning of all students, particularly those facing challenges in motivation and engagement. You will provide pastoral wrap-around care, helping students navigate personal and academic hurdles while fostering a supportive learning environment.

Additionally, you will cover lessons for absent teachers, ensuring continuity in education to enhance our educational offerings. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving student outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Promote an inclusive learning environment that supports all students, particularly those facing challenges in motivation and learning.
  • Provide pastoral wrap-around care to address students’ emotional and social needs, helping them build resilience and confidence.
  • Cover lessons for absent teachers, ensuring continuity in the educational experience for students.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans for students.
  • Facilitate small group sessions and one-on-one support to help students improve their academic skills.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to identify and address specific student needs, ensuring tailored support.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to help them achieve their goals.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to foster a supportive community around each student’s educational journey.

About You

  • You are a passionate educator committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes the success of all students, particularly those facing challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, you effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues, and you thrive as a team player.
  • Adaptable and resilient, you can adjust your approach to meet the diverse needs of students and respond to changing circumstances.
  • Strong organisational skills enable you to manage multiple responsibilities, maintain accurate records, and track student progress effectively.
  • As a problem solver, you identify challenges and develop creative solutions to enhance student learning and well-being. 
  • Relevant experience in educational support roles and knowledge of pastoral care, you are open to feedback and dedicated to your professional development, always seeking ways to improve your skills and practices.
