About the Role

Harrogate College are looking for an inspiring Creative Media Teacher, a background in Games Design / E-sports is preferred but not essential. The right candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning and can engage and motivate students, especially within the ever expanding Creative and Digital industries. The ideal candidate will be passionate about students and will ensure that they have an outstanding learning journey at Harrogate College.

Harrogate College delivers vocational courses in Creative Media Practice and E-Sports qualifications to 16-18 learners and adults.

What You Will Do

  • Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of on-line learning resources.
  • Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods to engage and develop learners
  • Create effective assessment activities, provide developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve 
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that all quality assurance processes are met.
  • Actively participate in Continual Professional Development and industrial placements.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Join a friendly, supportive, hard-working team who are passionate about developing learners self-esteem, abilities and progress. 

About You

  • Have experience or a willingness to teach creative & digital practice, with an interest in teaching Games Design and development
  • Be qualified to degree level in the related subject.
  • Hold or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification. 
  • Be commited to create an inclusive, nurturing environment for students.
  • Apply restorative practice to your communications with students and colleagues and be a proactive, flexible and supportive member of the team. 
  • You will also have experience of quality assurance processes and contribute enthusiastically to the overall success of the department and college and all students.
