Teacher Deledda International School

Deledda International School is an IB World School in Genoa, Italy, and we are looking for teachers who want to join us next academic year.

To be considered for employment, the following requirements must be met:

for our Elementary School (Grades 1-5)

-legally valid qualifications for employment in Italian state schools at the primary level and knowledge of English

for our Middle School and High School (we are an IB World School and have both the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme)

-university degree leading to a teacher qualification for the individual subject or Master’s degree in the specific teaching subject, preferably with a national or IB teaching qualification/certificate. Further, Preferential qualifications will be:

-for non-language subjects, knowledge of English (minimum C1), and for language subjects, native level speakers of the taught

To apply, the following documents must be included:

1. photocopy of a valid identity card or passport

2. professional curriculum vitae in a European format (Europass) with a letter of presentation

3. documentation certifying the possession of any qualifications/certificates

4. linguistic certification based on the Common European Framework

5. possession and documentation of the required academic qualifications (transcripts)

Once the application is complete, there is a verification of the requirements indicated and an evaluation of curricula. If these are satisfactoriy, the applicant will be called for an interview to verify the skills and knowledge necessary for the position.

To prepare for the interview, applicants need to demonstrate (and will be evaluated on) the following criteria:

• knowledge of the content of the subject

• ability and willingness to work collaboratively

• international projects and activities (scholastic and non-scholastic) with documentation

• study, research and work experience abroad and results achieved

• professional training (courses attended)

• linguistic ability (English and/or other applicable languages)

• knowledge of international teaching methodology

• knowledge of the IBO and its programmes (PYP, MYP, DP)

• European framework of key competencies for lifelong learning

• conceptual clarity on the differences between knowledge, competence, skill and other related terms in English

• IT skills for writing, research, calculations, presentations, etc.

• knowledge of the rights and duties of teachers

• knowledge of job security and data protection

• research and personal studies on topics of scholastic, pedagogical and didactic innovation

• collaboration with local, national, global entitites

• other work experiences

For applicants with prior teaching experience:

• teaching and IB experience

• classroom experience in relation to age of learners

• elaboration of teaching units and activities

• teaching strategies: collaborative experiences, projects, multimedia activities, innovative learning, classroom management
