Pownall Hall is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Art (Maternity) for our school who will be responsible for guiding and nurturing pupils in their academic and personal development through Art. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning while mentoring and supporting pupils in their journey through their Pownall years.

Teacher of Art Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning:
Art Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards, catering to the needs of the pupils.
Pupil Assessment:
Regularly assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to support individual learning needs.
Differentiation:
Implement differentiated teaching to meet varied learning styles and abilities within the classroom, ensuring all pupils have the opportunity to succeed.
Pastoral Care:
Pupil Support: Provide pastoral care to pupils in your classes, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages personal development, emotional well-being, and resilience.
Behaviour Management:
Establish clear expectations for behaviour and classroom management, promoting a safe and respectful learning atmosphere, aligned to the Pownall Code of Conduct, and Behaviour policy and procedures.
Parent Communication:
Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on pupil progress in Art, and well-being and addressing any concerns promptly.
Professional Development
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices, develop interdepartmental learning opportunities, and contribute to the overall improvement of the school's educational offerings.
Continuous Learning: Participate in professional development and training opportunities to stay current with educational trends and pedagogical practices.
Extracurricular Involvement:
School Community Engagement (Going the Extra Mile) Ideally, to participate in school events, activities, and committees, promoting a sense of community and belonging within the school.
Enrichment Activities:
Encourage and facilitate pupil participation in extracurricular Art Club activities, fostering a well-rounded educational experience.

Qualifications required
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (specific focus on Primary Education/Art preferred), or a degree level qualification with PGCE or equivalent
Experience: Previous experience teaching in a primary or prep school setting is ideal
Certification: Relevant teaching certification.
