Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher of Art to join a High School based in Lambeth.

The High School is looking for an energetic, talented, and innovative full-time Teacher of Art to join their vibrant department.

You will teach Art at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level, covering a range of media and disciplines including painting, drawing, printing, film and sculpture. You will inspire excellent attainment in the subject through high standards of teaching and learning and will advise pupils and parents on progress, giving clear guidance for improvement that will help their students realise their artistic potential.

You will be an outstanding Art specialist, with a good honours degree and excellent professional and subject knowledge. You will need previous experience as a subject teacher covering Key Stage 3-5, along with experience of teaching the subject at GCSE and A Level. Qualified teacher status, a PGCE or the equivalent, will also be essential.

About the Department

The Art department is lively and thriving, its members delivering a shared vision of promoting excellence in the study of the visual arts. They aim to engage pupils in an imaginative way through teaching them about Art, Craft and Design from historical and contemporary sources. The department is housed in specialist rooms, with relevant equipment including a pottery kiln, printing press, an iMac suite, DSLR cameras, whiteboards and overhead projectors.
