Ofsted
I am delighted to be able to share with you our Ofsted report with confirmation that Consett Academy is once again a “Good” school following our recent inspection. As you all know, when I arrived at Consett Academy 18 months ago, I was determined that the students would get a better deal and the fact we are now “Good” in all areas fills me with great pride.
It has been a real journey moving from “Requires Improvement” and I want to take this opportunity to thank all the parents/carers for their support with the changes I have made and without this, would not have been possible. I also wanted to give a special mention to the staff at Consett Academy who give so much to our students each and every day.
Finally, I want to say how proud I am of our students who have made such an impression on me but who also impressed Ofsted with their attitudes, honesty and talent. It is an honour to be Principal at Consett Academy and I look forward to driving standards and improvements further.
