THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to inspire, educate, and engage students in the study and practice of dramatic arts. This involves developing students' creativity, confidence, and communication skills through theater and performance.
The Drama teacher is responsible for teaching the fundamentals of acting, directing, stagecraft, and dramatic literature, while encouraging students to explore self-expression, emotional intelligence, and teamwork.
The Drama teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons, guide students through rehearsals, and often oversee the production of school plays or performances.
This role aims to foster an appreciation for the performing arts and to develop each student's artistic potential, cultural awareness, and ability to critically analyse dramatic works. This role not only enhances students' artistic skills but also builds transferable life skills such as empathy, collaboration, and problem-solving.
