Lytham St Annes High School – ‘A Learning Community in Pursuit of Excellence’

Are you looking to make a real difference to children’s lives? Are you ready to be part of their success? Do you want to take the next exciting step in your career? If you want to work at a “good” school with great students and committed staff, then Lytham St Annes High School is the place for you.

This post offers a great opportunity for all drama teachers who are either at the start of their career or who are looking to further develop their teaching skills. We are seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic, inspiring professional who can join us on our journey to become outstanding.

We will look to you to create lesson plans which are engaging, and which allow each child to make progress. In return, you will be given support so that you can be the very best teacher possible. The support you receive will be from a cohesive, creative and committed team whose aim is to maintain high standards and high expectations in a well-resourced faculty.

The Drama Department at LSA consists of two full time teachers and sits within the EPA faculty with Art and Music. Drama is taught through KS3 with a curriculum designed to practically and theoretically explore a range of performance styles and techniques, to prepare learners for study at GCSE (AQA) and to inspire a love of learning and passion for theatre. At KS4 we have good achievement and numbers and actively seek to continually develop both. We offer a range of extra-curricular activities including Drama Club - working toward public performances - theatre visits and work with visiting professionals. We encourage and expect staff to engage with high quality CPD wherever possible.

Please take time to look at our website which will give a flavour of our ethos and show that we care about each and every child that forms part of our community, and about every member of staff; it is this ethos that makes us ‘a learning community in pursuit of excellence’.

What we can offer you.

  • A robust school CPD training programme designed to enable you to flourish
  • A comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme
  • Pension Scheme
  • Free onsite car park

These are exciting times for the school as we move towards becoming a member of The Coastal Collaborative Trust.
