Job overview
Swans International School would like to appoint a Teacher of Film and Media Studies from January 2025.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate educator to join our vibrant Arts department as a Teacher of iGCSE Media Studies (Oxford) and IB Diploma Programme Film Studies. Both subjects are highly popular, with strong student take-up across Key Stage 4 and the Sixth Form, and are central to our school’s arts provision.
You will teach engaging, creative lessons in iGCSE Media Studies and IB Film Studies, both of which consistently produce excellent results. Our Media Studies students achieve outstanding outcomes, while our IB Film Studies students benefit from a rigorous curriculum that supports their creative development. Many of our students go on to study Film and Media Production at leading universities, and a number have won prestigious film awards in Los Angeles, highlighting the exceptional quality of their work.
The school also hosts an annual Arts and Film Festival, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their films and celebrate their achievements.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of teaching both Media Studies and Film Studies, with a creative and student-focused approach. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success and growth of both subjects within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
Candidates should be positive, experienced classroom practitioners who have the ability to motivate students in the Arts. Ideally, the candidate should have experience teaching to IBDP level but A Level (or other post-16 qualification) applicants will be welcomed.
Applicants should also make clear their willingness to teach a second subject (typically from the humanities but other options will be considered) in order to fulfil their timetable.
