Reporting to: Lead Teacher of Film & TV

Location: CAPA College, Mulberry Way, Wakefield, WF1 2QN

Grade: Main Pay Scale (if the successful candidate has QTS) or UQT Scale (if the successful candidate is an industry professional moving into a teaching career without QTS)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent OR Part-time, Permanent (Please indicate whether you wish to apply for a full-time or part-time role)

Interview Date: w/c 9th December (you will be shortlisted on 9th December and asked to interview on another date in the same week)

Overall Purpose of the Post:

This is an exciting opportunity to join CAPA College, a forward-thinking and outstanding institution focused on Arts in Education. Our Film & TV Pathway has seen incredible growth in both popularity and success, and as a result, we are seeking a passionate and creative Film & TV subject specialist to join our established team of teachers, artists, and practitioners. 

The CAPA College Film & TV curriculum includes:

  • Film Production: Directing, editing, sound design, cinematography, and storytelling
  • Television Production: Broadcast techniques, live studio work, and post-production
  • Media Theory: Critical analysis, genre studies, and media representation
  • Creative Projects: Student-led productions and industry-linked opportunities

We are looking for an innovative and dedicated Film and TV teacher who will inspire students through engaging, industry-focused lessons. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in film and television production, with the ability to teach a variety of technical and theoretical topics, from cinematography and editing to media theory and narrative analysis. We welcome applications from specialists who feel they have the experience, skills, and passion to make a significant contribution to our Film & TV curriculum. This includes qualified teachers (QTS), FE or HE lecturers, and Film & TV practitioners with teaching experience.
