Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher of Maths to join a Academy based in Wakefield.

The Academy is a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child.

They are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner with a real passion for Maths to join a supportive and motivated team of 10 dedicated, experienced colleagues who ensure that this area of school is vibrant and inclusive.

There are lots of opportunities within the department to lead on specific elements of their curriculum delivery, if this is something you’d like to do.

Applications are invited from both newly qualified and experienced professionals. Full-time or part-time (min 0.8) will be considered.

The academy is incredibly fortunate to host a variety of external workshops, roadshows, competitions and opportunities each year.

These have included Magic Maths workshops, university STEM opportunities, a visiting Maths poet, links with Art and local galleries, and national competitions. They have in-house tutor competitions for Numeracy each week, a Maths Masters enrichment programme, UKMT opportunities and much more.

Whether you are ambitious for progression or determined to be an outstanding classroom teacher, the Academy is the place for you.

They work hard to ensure they reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put their vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

Their teams are the beating heart of their organisation. Not only do you get a competitive salary but also access to their reward and recognition centre.

No matter what role you play in improving the lives of their students, you get full access to this from day one of your employment.

  • Great discounts and cashback from hundreds of retailers.
  • Excellent pension scheme to secure your future retirement.
  • 24/7 GP access to get you the help & support you need faster.
  • Practical and emotional support for personal, legal and financial issues.
  • Paid leave for those important moments in life that really matter.
  • Access to workouts, recipes, money tools and much more!
