Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-Time (32.5 hours) but Part Time hours can be considered

About the School:

The School is unique, they are lucky enough to be a split site school, enabling them to provide a lower and upper school site. The school has beautiful grounds, purpose-built Art, Music, Drama and Design Technology, Wrenn Astro, playing fields, hard play areas and Gyms provide excellent facilities for their pupils. They aim for excellence in all that they do, they invest heavily in the development of their pupils’ and find ways to nurture them both academically and personally. About the Music Department

At the School, the music department, with the support of the Curriculum Leader for Performance, is dedicated to delivering exceptional lessons that engage and challenge all students. The school offers a subsidised peripatetic service, providing one-to-one tuition in a variety of musical instruments, typically during school hours. Throughout their time at the academy, students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of trips and visits, including attending performances such as The Lion King musical in London. The extra-curricular programme enriches students’ experiences beyond the standard curriculum, offering activities like choir, orchestra, drama, dance, and an acoustic super-band, allowing them to build upon their classroom learning and showcase their talents.

About You:

As a Teacher of Music, you will bring your passion for music and dedication to inspiring students, fostering their musical talents, and creating an engaging and challenging learning environment. Their ideal candidate would:

  • Foster a love of learning, be adaptable and creative, able to engage students with innovative teaching methods.
  • Be an outstanding and reflective classroom practitioner.
  • Set high expectations and be a positive role model – consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which they expect of pupils.

Requirements:

To apply for the Teacher of Music opportunity you must hold:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree or equivalent 
  • Proven track record of outstanding teaching including marking and assessment
  • Experience in teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 Music
