Socrates Educa International School in Salou, near Barcelona, welcomes students aged 1 to 18+. It's the first school to implement the innovative Socrates Educa model, set to expand to new schools.
This trilingual (English/Spanish/Catalan) school offers Pre-school, Primary, Secondary, International Baccalaureate, US High School Dual Diploma, and Chinese language options. Our curriculum, primarily in English, is globally influenced, and our alumni attend 100+ universities worldwide.
We offer diverse extracurricular activities, community projects, cultural events, and an annual university fair. We're currently hiring a Secondary teacher for the school year 2024-2025. Multilingual and IB-experienced candidates are preferred, with knowledge of Catalan/Spanish as a plus.
Key Requirements for All Candidates:
Proficient in English with the ability to teach exclusively in English, creating an authentic language-learning environment.
A passionate educator in the fields of Mathematics, capable of inspiring students of diverse skill levels. Prior experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is highly desirable. Additional expertise in related subjects is a plus.
Proficiency in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) skills, including familiarity with Mac and iPad platforms, along with knowledge of educational applications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or equivalent.
Desirable:
Secondary teacher for IB and Bachillerato / ESO, ages 12-18.
IB trained and experienced or prepared to undergo the training.
Very useful:
UCAS / D of E experience .
Familiarity with Spanish ESO / Bachillerato curriculum.
Knowledge of Spanish and Catalan.

Socrates Educa International School Salou is an international school in southern Catalonia which opened in 2012.
The school, located south of Barcelona between the mountains and the sea, has a new building complex with potential to welcome up to 800 students, and offers a complete education to students aged 1 to 18. This is the first school to run with the Socrates Educa model, an innovative pedagogical system which is likely to be implemented in other new schools in the future.
The Socrates Educa International School is an international school offering innovative inclusive education from nursery up to the Spanish Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) and American Dual Diploma Program.
