We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant, with a love of learning, to join our warm and friendly team. The successful candidate will share our values and ethos, our passion for child development and learning and a commitment to provide the best possible education for every child.

Hawley Primary School is a vibrant, happy and diverse community. We are a single-form entry school and we work in partnership with parents, carers and the local community to provide a safe, warm and nurturing environment, where children, their families and our staff feel welcomed, valued and respected.

We are ambitious for all of our pupils and work hard to set and achieve high standards. Students are well-behaved, engaged and excited about their learning. At Hawley there is a focus on teamwork and staff working collaboratively alongside supportive leaders. We are committed to creating strong partnerships and strive to create an aspirational environment where staff can be challenged and achieve their potential, whilst feeling supported by our experienced team.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children, ideally in an Early Years setting or in Nursery or Reception within a school. We welcome applicants who have experience or knowledge of children with special educational needs, or a desire to learn.

Further details can be found in the Job Description and Personal Specification document and you can download an application form. This position is being initially advertised as fixed term until August 2026, however there may be the possibility of the position becoming permanent in the future.

Commitment to safeguarding

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, online pre-employment and enhanced DBS checks. We welcome a diverse population of both children and staff and are committed to promoting and developing equality of opportunity.
