About this Role

Oxford Spires Academy is  seeking to recruit a passionate and caring EAL Teaching Assistant with excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills to join a committed team of educational professionals.

This is a part time role with working hours as follows:

Wednesday - Friday (term time only (8.20am-3.10pm)

In this role you will be working closely with the teachers and school staff to improve outcomes, you will enable access to the curriculum and to facilitate full inclusion for a young person or groups of young people with English as an Additional language . 

Previous experience of working within EAL department is desirable but training will be given. However, a proven ability to work positively in a team setting, including listening and taking into account the views of others, and actively sharing information is essential.

In this exciting and varied role, it is essential that you have empathy with the young people and be sympathetic to their needs whilst understanding the importance of high expectations so that they can achieve of their best in all aspects of school life.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification and will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks which will, where applicable, include a health check, an enhanced DBS check, the Children’s Barred List check and satisfactory references.
