Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who has some experience of supporting children’s learning and behaviour 5 mornings a week (08.30-13.00) for 1 year fixed term with the potential to extend further.

The successful candidate will:

•          be able to build strong and successful relationships with all children from a range of backgrounds

•          be able to work both independently and as part of a team showing initiative and team spirit when required

•          have a kind, consistent and therapeutic approach to managing children’s behaviour

•          act as a role model for good learning and behaviour

•          have some experience of supporting children with additional needs

Chyngton Primary school is a two-form entry school in Seaford that puts our children’s wellbeing and happiness at the very heart of all that we do.

Our approach to learning and support has also earned us high praise from Ofsted, who said in May 2022 “Pupils are happy at Chyngton. They are proud of their school. They say that the school values ‘Be kind, be safe, be ready for learning’ match their day-to-day experience of school.”

We are proud of our children’s learning and progress through our ambitious curriculum. We are part of the ‘Seaford Learning Trust’ along with Seaford Head Secondary School, working collectively to ensure that everyone in the Seaford Community is supported, challenged, and inspired to become the very best that they can be.

We can offer you:

•          A thriving school community!

•          Children who are happy and keen to learn

•          Staff who are friendly, welcoming and caring

•          A supportive workplace environment: "Staff feel well supported by leaders and appreciate that their workload and well-being are considered." (Ofsted May 2022)

•          Comprehensive induction to our school team

•          Continued professional development
