Forest Bridge School is a Special Free School for children (4-16 years) with autism which opened in September 2015 and has moved into our purpose-built building in March 2021. The school’s vision is: To be a leading provider of education for children and young adults with the primary diagnosis of autism. Combining Applied Behaviour Analysis, evidence-based therapy and effective personalised curriculums to enable pupils to fulfil their potential, prepare for adulthood and lead happy lives.
We offer an exciting career opportunity for a Therapy Assistant to join our Therapy Team. To succeed in the role, you will need to be a confident, enthusiastic person with a passion for learning and the ability to build good working relationships with young people, teachers, parents and carers.
The role will involve supporting our Occupational and Speech and Language therapists to deliver programs that meet our children’s individual needs. Currently, the role will focus on supporting the delivery of Occupational Therapy (although this could shift in the future).
The successful candidate will have confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning, experience with working with children with special needs, in particular children on the autism spectrum, together with good administration and computer skills as this is an integral part of the role.
Salary: Dependent on experience.
The school is committed to safeguarding children and the successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
