Our school delivers the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in years 7 to 9, the (I)GCSE in years 10 and 11, after which our students progress to study either the IB Diploma Program, IB Career Related Program or the more vocationally oriented BTEC applied learning program in years 12 and 13.

The position will be a full-time two year finite contract from August 2025 to August 2027 with the possibility of renewal. The position is a teaching position with an additional TLR2 Head of Geography role.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in the field of Geography plus a recognised Postgraduate teaching qualification, or equivalent;
- Teaching experience within a recognised educational organisation;
- Teaching experience and capacity in any of the areas of Geography with experience in IB MYP, (I)GCSE Geography and IB DP Geography is an advantage;
- Teaching experience for IBDP ESS with leadership experience in this area an advantage
- Ability to teach in other Humanities areas in IB MYP, Global Perspectives and/or (I)GCSE and IB DP is preferable;
- Ability and willingness to teach IB DP Theory of Knowledge would be an advantage;
- Experience and ability to use data on student learning to modify curriculum, teaching and assessment provision;
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to form positive relationships with students, staff and parents;
- Ability to lead the work of the Geography Department Professional Learning Teams and lead collaboration focused on improving student outcomes;
- Monitor the impact of initiatives on learning though collaborative enquiry and data informed conversations;
- Monitor learning progress through interaction with the school data plan and ensure interventions are being implemented at the faculty and classroom level.
- Ability to lead or support extra-curricular activities as part of the whole-school CAS programme and attend school functions as a representative of the school leadership team;
- Contribute to school wide accountability and external accreditation processes.
