Work pattern: 34.5 hours per week, Term time (39 weeks) + 4 weeks Extended School Provision during school holidays (43 weeks)

Hours of work: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm

Salary information: Scale 5, £27,380 - £28,663 per annum (dependent upon experience) + SSA, £1,326

Start date: September 2024

Meadow High is a special school for students aged 11-19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties and additional Complexities. One of the UK’s largest secondary special schools, we have been consistently rated as a Good school. The school holds a number of national awards including the SEN Specialist Schools Award, the Inclusion Quality Mark Award and the International School Award.

We are seeking an experienced welfare officer who is hard working and has the enthusiasm to hit the ground running and be part of a dynamic team. This role would suit someone with a positive attitude, empathetic nature and a good sense of humour, who is experienced in supporting a wide range of medical needs in a caring and supportive environment. 

We wish to appoint candidates with:

  • Experience of working in a school environment or a similar setting. 
  • Emergency first aid trained.
  • School welfare / medical or clinical experience in a hospital / care home setting.
  • Organised, methodical, calm, patient and caring.
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask.
  • Child centred approach.
