Culcha Candela is a very popular, modern, young German band. The worksheet provided can be used for comprehension and text work based on their current hit single 'Berlin City Girl'. <p>The five powerpoint presentations can help to consolidate or summarize vocabulary and structures on the sub-topics Family, Friends, Spare Time, Habits and Modern Media. Each powerpoint covers at least two lessons; textbook activities or other self-standing activities can be added as appropriate.</p>

Once the topic has been finished, pupils can engage in a speed dating activity using the worksheet attached. It might be good to use a bigger room, i.e. assembly hall. Pupis sit on desks (one boy to one girl) and have five minutes time to ask each other these questions. After five minutes they change partners. Some nice back ground music makes it a bit more authentic. My S1 enjoyed this activity.

This lesson plans starts with some Valentine's presents and moves on to practise the dative with schenken (ihm/ihr). There is a reading and writing activity and speaking can be practised, too. It finishes off with some German Valentine's greetings to use for making a Valentine's card.
