This PPt is worth 30mins of Assembly time. Last year I enlisted my language leaders to help me deliver the slides, one each on repeat. This helps the students to overcome stage fright and improve public speaking. All you will need to do is to introduce the Assembly and manage/trust your language leaders to deliver the rest. This PPt is great for your European day of Languages Assembly with footnotes with instructions for every slide. Your audience will be engaged and it will participate answering some multiple choice questions - students could be rewarded with positive points or a sweet on the spot, if the answer the question correctly. Besides engaging your audience with questions, you will provide them with interesting facts and there are also links to videos thought the ppt that will explain how languages shape our thoughts and will keep your audience attentive and engaged until the end, hopefully encouraging students to take a language for their choice of GCSE.
