This resource has been created to meet the A2 criteria for the CACHE Level 3 Certificate and Diploma in Childcare & Education with EYE. The criteria requires the student to : 5.3. Analyse the tension between maintaining confidentiality and the need to disclose information. The powerpoint includes four cases studies for students to analyse and identify the four categories of dilemmas that might occur between maintaining confidentiality and disclosure. It also identifies guidelines and asks the students to apply them to make decisions for the outcomes of each case study. The worksheet is a printable source of the four case studies.

It gives some examples of the kinds of questions that need to be asked and a typical response to achieve pass, merit and distinction criteria. This resource ensures that learners can understand what is required to answer D1 for Unit 7 Principles of Safe Practice for the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma. It includes four worksheets (2 on the powerpoint) to help them to structure an answer. It also includes four sources that will help them to evidence their response. In addition to that the second worksheet ensures that P1 is answered within D1. So the learners will start with the distinction criteria. The learners begin by breaking down the criteria and turning it into questions which they answer within the first worksheet. They then use case studies (from the assignment brief set by BTEC) and complete the chart on the powerpoint slide. There are four sources which can be used to form support/evidence for a duty of care being significant in promoting safe practice or to challenge this. Finally they will structure this within a formal essay plan. The lesson is designed for learners to work in mixed ability groups. I would recommend the follow up lesson to be on M1 assess the importance of balancing individual rights with a duty of care.

This lesson has been created for BTEC Level 3 Unit 12 Supporting Individuals with Additional Needs. It aims to support learners to achieve P2. It is a powerpoint that includes group activities and some other additional resources that can be printed out and used. There are relevant video links and an activity for independent study. The lesson would also be suitable for an A Level Sociology lesson for the Sociology of Health.

This lesson has been designed for Edexcel GCSE Psychology Unit 9 on Sleep and Dreaming and specification point 9.2.2. It has a starter to capture interest. Video link and questions and answers. It includes an exam question task and mark scheme for peer marking, appropriate video links and tasks. Matching the statements task to complete the evaluation sheet with aim, procedure, results, conclusions and implications. This lesson was created for the Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning course. TDA 3.1 Communication and Professional Relationships . It meets the criteria for 2,2 Explain how to adapt communication to suit the needs of children and young people. This resource is for Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning. It includes a powerpoint, a matching statements task which will need to be cut up so students can identified which are related to retributive justice and which are restorative justice. They then look at 4 key methods children use to resolve conflict and a case study of a boy called Stephen and how teachers used the restorative method to improve his ability to resolve his own conflicts. The students have to identify which strategy is being used at different stages.

This booklet covers A2 and B6 of the specification for Unit 1 Human Lifespan Development for BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care. I use it for flip learning but it can be used in conjunction with teaching resources in the classroom. The booklet provides activities for all life stages for emotional development and also includes some life events and stress including the Holmes-Rahe Model and Stress-Diathesis Model. It starts with the importance of attachment for emotional development and includes Bowlby’s Attachment Theory, Schaffer and Emerson and Ainsworth.

This is a comprehensive booklet and accompanying answer booklet covering intellectual development across all six life spans. It is tailored for BTEC Level 3 Unit 1. There are learning activities for each of the six life spans. The booklet also provides a marking system. Learners can mark each activity for a score and then total up the score and write it on the front of the booklet.

This lesson is useful for Year 7 Science lessons on Acids and Alkalis. I used it at the end of the topic for as a revision and creative lesson. It includes a nice starter which gets learners to work in a group and then a creative writing task where learners use knowledge of everyday uses of acids and alkalis to create a story. This includes an explanation of the tasks - there are notes under the slides and an example of the story. This could be printed off for weaker learners who could do the final task using this. We also do this for fun in the class by one student starting the story and another adding the next line and so on.
