<p>This is a lesson that I used in a lower end Year 3 class as they were revising the 4 times tables that they have been learning. I used the range of tasks to add variety to the task and the differentiation allows for all pupils to be stretched and challenged. These also allow for a range of skills to be developed in line with the curriculum including Problem Solving and Handling Data.</p>

<p>This is a great problem solving activity for groups to work through in small groups to plan the fixtures for the 2018 World Cup. It is great for engaging boys who maybe struggle to become integrated in group work and problem solving activities. When I used this in a class we spent 90 mins planning and the another hour in the computer lab producing a document and posters for the World Cup.</p>

<p>The Times Table clock allows pupils to use the times tables that they already know and use counting backwards and forwards to fill in the missing gaps. This was particularly useful for showing that multiplication is commutative and when moving onto the 3s and 4s as the pupils already have a wide knowledge of the 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s and were able to count and fill the gaps.</p>
