<p>A blank comic strip template with an example of a lesson plan that I used to teach the Wild West. Works very well to link reading books and to allow pupils to gain an understanding of the layout of a comic strip.</p>

<p>This is a lesson that I used in a lower end Year 3 class as they were revising the 4 times tables that they have been learning. I used the range of tasks to add variety to the task and the differentiation allows for all pupils to be stretched and challenged. These also allow for a range of skills to be developed in line with the curriculum including Problem Solving and Handling Data.</p>

<p>This is a great problem solving activity for groups to work through in small groups to plan the fixtures for the 2018 World Cup. It is great for engaging boys who maybe struggle to become integrated in group work and problem solving activities. When I used this in a class we spent 90 mins planning and the another hour in the computer lab producing a document and posters for the World Cup.</p>

<p>A two way differentiated resource based on a comprehension activity about George Best the Northern Ireland and Manchester footballing legend George Best. By using a football activity you will be able to engage boys in a new way by playing on their interests. The comprehension questions are based on the pupils ability to draw information from the text as well as using their knowledge of language and text structure.</p>

<p>A worksheet and a lesson plan to use multiplication in a problem solving activity. Focused around the 2 and 3 times tables so it is perfect as a revision of these topics as well as a bit of an introduction to problem solving as the maths should be very accessible to all.</p> <p>The lesson plan contains full linking to relevant curriculum considering the cross-curricular skill and the use of thinking skills and personal capabilities. The plan also comes with ideas of how the lesson could be taught and has considered differentiation, questioning and assessment.</p>

<p>The Times Table clock allows pupils to use the times tables that they already know and use counting backwards and forwards to fill in the missing gaps. This was particularly useful for showing that multiplication is commutative and when moving onto the 3s and 4s as the pupils already have a wide knowledge of the 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s and were able to count and fill the gaps.</p>

<p>This resource will allow children to develop and increase their understanding of time and the terminology that typically goes along with it. The children will fill in the gaps of a TV schedule which includes start time, finish time and duration</p>

<p>A percentage activity for classes where boys potentially who struggle to engage with maths can be excited as it is all to do with sport.</p>

<p>A resource with 3 sections which can be used as levels of differentiation in the development of skills in turning singular nouns into plural nouns.</p>

<p>A data handling activity with a focus on mean, median and mode giving pupils experience of differentiating between each of the three ways of finding the average. Based towards a KS2 class but also could be used as a revision activity for a KS3 class.</p>

<p>The story of King Midas and the Golden Touch allows pupils to explore a range of emotions and morals that they may experience later in life. The Greek Myth explores the themes of greed, materialism, relationships and the important things in life. These can be important moral lessons as part of a PDMU lesson or as part of the wider theme of Greek Mythology.</p> <p>The use of emojis allows pupils to explore modern communication methods and explores issues such as personal loss in a new and non aggressive means.</p>

<p>Multiplication can be difficult for children to transfer between the abstract and the concrete. By using real life objects that pupils understand they are able to transfer their knowledge from tables to a wider understanding.</p>

<p>A revision activity and worksheet focusing on a mixture of equivalent fractions and percentages aimed at a Key Stage 2 or Lower Ability Key Stage 3 class as a revision activity.</p>

<p>A maths resource for KS1 children looking at World War 2 in a numeracy context. This incorporates the topics of number and measure as the children are working with a recipe and have to adapt the recipe for either double or half the number of people.</p>
