<p>Suitable for year 9/10/11 (could be tweaked to be suitable for year 7 and 8)</p> <p>The aim of this lesson is to come to a decision as to whether or not NASA should spend $3 billion investing in their hypothetical cooling method of Yellowstone volcano.</p> <p>Before pupils answer this question, the lesson takes them on a journey to explore:</p> <ul> <li>what a super volcano is</li> <li>How likely a Yellowstone eruption is</li> <li>The potential (worst case scenario) impacts of an eruption</li> </ul> <p>This is an exciting lesson with plenty of opportunity for discussion and evaluation. It will really challenge the thinking of pupils!</p>
