<p>A unit of work exploring the context, style, allegorical interpretations and character-work of Kafka’s famous absurdist novella.</p> <p>This five-week set of lessons includes nurmerous scaffolding worksheets and a variety of carefully thought-out tasks to ensure that the sometimes-confounding text can be understood and accessed by readers of all abilities. Higher and lower ability lessons are in place for some lessons.</p> <p>Pupils are also given the chance to not just analyse Kafka’s work but pursue its goals creatively, with a number of longer written tasks allowing students to embrace their inner absurdist!</p>

Six weeks’ worth of lessons in total.</p> <p>A diverse and inclusive series of extracts, including from Nelson Mandela, Gordon Ramsay, Katherine Johnson, Roald Dahl, Ian Wright and others, help to illustrate the power of autobiographical writing. Pupils’ comprehension skills are tested in a series of fun activities that accommodate many different learning styles.</p> <p>Pupils are also encouraged to express themselves through a series of dynamic and carefully-scaffolded lessons that ensure they are able to define and convey their beliefs, emotions and relationships to others.</p> <p>This is an empathetic, dynamic, academically-rigorous and fun scheme of work that has been enjoyed by many pupils.</p>
