Activities to go with the Film the Rocket

This is primarily for a lower level FLE class as the film is in French and English but it tells a very good story about Canadian culture and our love for hockey. The exercises are easy PC but the discussion questions can be used for higher levels. It is an excellent film and brings to light the French-English conflict in Canada and how it played out in the NHL at the time. The music video is awesome, catchy, and shows clips of the Rocket and shows how much Habs fans love their team and the bilingual nature of Montreal.

Prezi Project Criteria Sheet

This project allows students to present orally with a neat, new visual aid (Prezi powerpoint). Students need to create their own accounts and it is really fun if the teacher has an interactive white board to toggle the slides with. My students did a great job and then had to answer spontaneous questions about sports or hobbies not presented at the end of the presentation. It was an excellent spoken production assignments and a great way to get to know my students.
