<p>These lessons simplify British Values by using games. OFSTED are interested in seeing British Values in schools and implementing these lessons may help to demonstrate this criteria in infant schools and Year 1-2. The resources to practice the implementation of BV’s in school life in a fun way. At the end of the three sets of lessons, students will also have created British Values hand prints which could be used in a wall display.</p>

<p>These lessons explore British Law in relation to the new RSE guidelines and address OFSTED links to British Values/Prevent. They were build alongside StopHateUK They aim to empower students regarding their rights and teach them how to respond to extremist ideas and Hate Crime:</p> <p>Lesson 1: Protected Characteristics and Hate Crimes- Students explore the law regarding Protected Communities and look at how to respond to Hate Crimes/Speech in the community.</p> <p>Lesson 2: Explores Freedom of Speech- What is the law in the UK and why is that different to the USA</p> <p>Lesson 3: Extremism- How do we respond to extremist speech in a positive way. This includes a debate.</p> <p>Lesson 4: Fake News- How to think critically to counter Fake News online. This lesson includes the creation of a wall display.</p> <p>Lesson 5: British Values in the classroom. Some games exploring how British Values can be practised in the classroom.</p>

<p>**This set of lessons covers a number of areas in keeping with the new RSE curriculum/ PSE curriculum. **</p> <p>-Lesson 1: Identity and good communities- This encourages students to look at themselves as many pieces which make up their identity. It then shows them how each piece of their identity can connect them to new/ positive communities. It touches on protected characteristics as mentioned in the new PSE guidelines</p> <p>-Lesson 2: Identity and bad communities- This lesson looks at bad communities and how to practise positive values to avoid becoming a part of them. It builds resilience against hateful practises. Again reinforcing the new PSE guidelines</p> <p>Lesson 3: Internet Safety and Fake News- This lesson practises critical thinking online and creates a wall display and games.</p> <p>Lesson 4: This looks at safe internet use on social media.</p> <p>Lesson 5: This is a lesson of games to explore British Values</p>
