La Ropa (Differentiated Worksheet)

Based on Mira 2 Unit 5. Another target of mine, differentiating the same worksheet for all pupils. I had just carried out EoU assessments and so based on this I allocated the worksheets to pupils and also offered them the chance to challenge/ change my decision. The idea is that while watching a Youtube Video- preferably related to the topic- pupils will identify the clothes mentioned/ that they can see in the video. The first slide, is for the less able and provides pictures and English. The next level along has just the Spanish and the most able will sort out the clothes for themselves.

Taboo- Comida (Mira 2 Unit 4)

Based around Mira 2.4. This is a speaking game for pupils, the idea is that they are able to revise vocabulary for the unit of work by working in groups or pairs. The words in bold, underlined text cannot be said, but there are three hints underneath to help pupils - of course pupils may also use spontaneous TL to help their peers guess the word at the top. Trying it out for the first time tomorrow, as part of a carousel of activities to revise for EoU.

PPT used to introduce the regular formation of the Spanish Future tense. Quite a jam packed lesson, with a variety of activities to engage pupils in the understanding and use of this tense. I had used a star wars moving screen for the gap fill, created by Monsieur MFL on TES, you can find this on his page for a small price, well worth it for something different!

4Pics1Verb- the letters under pictures are not linked to answer, pupils should use a dictionary for this.

Ideas influenced/ inspired by many users on TES. Thank you :)

Inspired by Gianfranco Conti I have created a Spanish sentence builder to be used for registration times in lessons.

The idea that pupils can say how they feel and must use a different adjective each time.

Adaptable resource, font may vary from picture due to sowftware used in creation.

Getting the little darlings to settle down

When you open this, it may seem quite blank. I've added notes to each slide to explain what the activities are. I was recently set a target to develop activities to have on the board as pupils enter the class. So each slide can be adapted and changed to suit the needs of whatever topic area you are studying. I&'ve found it useful to get pupils interacting with the L.O. and helps link activities later in the lesson too!

Chain Reaction Language Game

This activity is for KS4 (and above), it may be adaptable enough for KS3 too. It was inspired by the board game of the same name, Chain Reaction. In this version you have a topic to talk about and thirty seconds to do so entirely in Spanish. It is initially a word level based game, but can be changed to extend more able students.

Included in the pack is
-an adaptable powerpoint,
-rules (can be changed to suit your classes)
-a selection of 120 topics/ cards to get you started.

It's a great way to revise and the restriction on time and added incentive that words mean points adds to a competitive and fast paced game.

Thank you and enjoy!

Two versions, one with a picture, another without.

Guided Writing

Inspired by a teacher on twitter this is my version of his guided writing grid that he has created. It can be used in a variety of ways and edited to suit the questions that you are asking your students to write about.

The idea is that they are given the sheet before trying to complete the writing task and come up with possible vocab that they could link together to form a sentence. Similarly, I used it to boost the confidence of my class who had just completed a writing task without a dictionary. They used their writing and had to find the information from their work and put it in the grid, then added additional phrases for future use.
