<p>Word banks can often be too bulky and include tens of sheets, often stuffed into packs - this multitude of resources can be overwhelming for pupils and inefficient for teachers to organise.</p> <p>This 2-page word bank, that can be double-sided and laminated, includes great vocabulary for common ‘boring’ word or clusters i.e. words for ‘big’, words for ‘said’, words for ‘nice’, words for ‘taste’ etc.</p> <p>The word bank also includes sections for key Y3/4 and key Y5/6 words stipulated by the National Curriculum 2014.</p>

<p>As a Y6 teacher, speech is always one aspect pupils struggle to use effectively in writing, but this series of lessons have dramatically improved outcomes over the last few years.</p> <p><strong>This bundle includes 4 lessons</strong>, attached teaching PPT and task activities that enable pupils to comprehensively learn how to develop simple and more complex speech, including how to attach relative clauses and adverbials to speech for greater character development:</p> <ul> <li>A 38-slide teaching PPT for 4 lessons.</li> <li>Lesson 1 task sheet focused on punctuating simple speech.</li> <li>Lesson 2 task sheet focused on punctuating complex speech.</li> <li>Lesson 3 task sheet focused on punctuating speech with relative clauses attached.</li> <li>Lesson 4 task sheet focused on punctuating speech with adverbials attached.</li> </ul>

<p>This pack includes a PPT with video links to help pupils understand why the sun appears to move in the sky, drawing on scientific knowledge.</p> <p>Two tasks are also included which encourage pupils to attach time, possible activities they may be doing and the sun’s direction as the day progresses.</p> <p>The ‘using it’ task provides a scaffolded passage-filling task using a scientific word bank to explain the sun’s apparent movement across the school. The ‘owning it’ task is for higher-ability pupils, providing them with no scaffold and greater expectations for the activities included.</p>

<p>This bundle includes materials for three lessons:</p> <ol> <li> <p>A powerpoint has been created that includes information and pictures of the key events of WW1, presented in a concise way for pupils between 10 and 14 years old to understand what happened as simply as possible. A task sheet has been created to enable pupils to sort out key events in chronological order. Another task sheet has also been created to enable pupils to compare society back then to now.</p> </li> <li> <p>The same as above, a powerpoint and task sheets have been created for WW2, focusing on key events, timelines and comparing society.</p> </li> <li> <p>As part of the second powerpoint, there is another lesson focused on propaganda, where propoaganda posters are analysed in detail with model anwers. A task sheet has been created where pupils analyse posters by describing them and explaining their intent.</p> </li> </ol>

<p>These problems were created by myself, an experienced Y5 and Y6 teacher. Finding mathematical problems is difficult, especially ones that target the multi-step, context-interpreting domain that many questions in SATs require.</p> <p>The problems in this pack are organised into neat blocks that can be cut and stuck in books one at a time so that plenty of space can be used to work problems out.</p>

<p>This pack includes reading, grammar, punctuation and writing resources that can be used in a unit where the final outcome is that pupils write a non-chronological report that compares animals.</p> <p>Reading resources included - three factual texts about five different animals and three differentiated tasks aimed at building retrieval, language and inference skills.</p> <p>Punctuation resources included - using colons, semi-colons and parenthesis correctly.</p> <p>Grammar resources included - using relative clauses, comparative, formal and informal language appropriately.</p> <p>Writing resources included - plan sheet and written example of a non-chronological report using information from the reading texts.</p>
