With the GCSE exam coming up, I’ve put together a daily plan for my Y11 students so they can do 15-30 minutes revision each day on a different topic from the Edexcel GCSE French course. Hope it proves useful.

A higher ability reading comprehension text on food and drink, with true/false questions included. I’ve used come complex vocab here, and a few different tenses, so it’s good for a high Y9 group or a GCSE group. I used this as a writing frame so my pupils could produce something similar.

Trying to get mid-ability students to produce German sentences can be quite challenging, so I have put together 45 common sentences for students to translate - mainly taken from Ch 1 and Ch 2 of the Stimmt text book. The clues are there - I’ve given them the first letter of each word, and it’s in the right word order. It’s useful exam practice for them.

Rather than use stampers - I created my own templates for feeding back to students. It saves time, and if you print them on to labels you can stick them straight into your pupils' books. You can adapt and change them to suit.

Using key verbs and QR codes, I have created a display which allows students to firstly see different verbs in a variety of tenses, but also they can scan the code which will take them to an online verb conjugator. I created a ‘washing line’ of verbs across my classroom so the students can refer to these verbs.

An intital mind map which links all the AQA essay titles into the themes of the book. Useful to focus students on the key topics generated from the work.

This is a 12 line grid - on one side students write out the notes for their answer in the target language, on the other side the same text in English, but written in the the TL word order. Students can then highlight one word in each line, in both languages. The box at the bottom is the summary of key words, so that pupils can construct their answers for the conversation element of the speaking test, avoiding the temptation to Google translate answers, or learning their answers parrot fashion. There is also an 8 line version for foundation candidates.
