Making a holiday brochure

This resource is for French KS3 classes and can be used as an end of year activity to be completed over several weeks or as part of a cultural module on discovering French / Francophone cities.
I have used this with several classes over the last two years and they have really enjoyed researching the cities, making the brochures and then presenting the city they have researched to their peers.
I have started these lessons off with some Q and A on where pupils have travelled to and how much they know about the places they have visited. I then distribute the grey sentence builders so pupils have them for reference as I present MY research (the example brochures) and unpick some of the language with them. We go through the three example brochures (maybe only one, depending on the class) and watch about the citites online to give pupils an idea of the city in question. Videos from Bing or Youtube (bloggers) are helpful. We might have more discussion before pupils then start researching various Francophone cities.
Something I hadn’t considered and might be useful is providing pupils with a list of francophone countries to provide them with a little more structure. One could also provide pupils with a wordsearch containing a variety of Francophone city names as a starting point and then have pupils choose from the options after completing the word search.

For weaker classes I have given them the option of presenting the final brochure / information in English. However, I find a lot of pupils are keen to try in French! Especially if there is a reward system in place for trying!
The sentence builder grid I have made and included has been helpful to pupils although some like to go off-piste and look up ‘extra bits’.

I hope this is helpful - I’m happy to recieve feedback / suggestions on how to improve this resource further.
