Chemical calculations practice booklet (Edexcel)

(0)

This booklet includes 40 pages of practice questions to help students practice the ‘basics’ of chemical calculations – including mole calculations, titrations, equilibrium, enthalpy changes and much more!

Section A includes shorter practice questions so students can gain mastery and check their understanding. See image for the contents of section A - I have tried to make it pretty comprehensive to cover all the calculations from different A Level topics. Topics are separated onto different pages with answer spaces for ease of printing.

Section B includes 16 brand new ‘extended response’ style calculation questions – 5-10 mark questions to challenge and build confidence. These are perfect as standalone revision of longer calculation questions (I have another booklet for extended response written questions) or to use at the end of topics.

All questions include mark schemes with clear workings.

A Level Chemistry - random retrieval practice and revision prompts

(2)

This document lists 101 separate prompts for students that can be used for random retrieval practice. This document is aimed at the second year of A Level with content suitable for any exam board - when combined with my other resource, 101 activities for AS Level, it covers the whole course (except for a few small exam board specific areas). You can use in class by picking a random number (ask a student or use a random number generator) or let them use for homework and independent study.

By doing the activities randomly instead of going through topics in order, it challenges their memory more effectively, stops them avoiding topics they don’t like and allows for spaced learning and repetition of different topics.

Transition to A Level Chemistry

(1)

Head Start to A Level Chemistry - this guide can be used as self study prep for students transitioning from GCSE to A Level. Covers ions and ionic formulae, types of reaction and equation (including ionic and half equations) and mole calculations. Each topic area has a page of notes and examples followed by a page of quick self-test questions. The questions pages have a QR code for students to check their answers.

Perfect for the start of term or when you’re about to start a relevant topic, also good for self-marking homework and picks up any missing knowledge or misconceptions from GCSE.
