White Rose year 3 Early Morning Maths Revision

(1)

A powerpoint I have created for the first 15 minutes in the morning when the children are coming into school.
It is a revision of the White Rose Maths Hub’s small steps for year 3 for the first block of place value (intending on making slides for the rest of the blocks soon but trying to find a quick way for my children to recap what we’ve learnt through the year).

Each slide has differentiated questions similar to those on the Small Steps document and answers on the next slide for children to self mark.

EYFS Maths quick starters

I made a ppt to support number recognition as a quick starter for my Reception class, which has now turned into a variety of starter activities based on the EYFS learning goals. I find the little and often has been working well to support mine with their recognition of numbers, shapes and understanding of some of the terminology of more, less, double, halve, calculate etc. and so having it on one easy powerpoint to call upon as quick starters or time fillers has been a good resource for me!

We use the Twinkl pre-cursive font at my school which is downloadable from their website, or can be easily changed.

'How did you GROW as a mathematician?' display poster for maths plenaries.

A poster I have on our Maths Working Wall which we refer to at the end of maths lessons. Sometimes children just volunteer ideas, other times we roll a dice and answer the corresponding question.

It has been really good for developing my children’s reflective comments on their learning and making connections in maths.

Classroom Coupons! Reading reward system.

This is a reward system I use in my classroom to encourage reading.
The children earn a ‘reading ticket’ every time they read at home and it is in their reading record. They can then save these up to spend on classroom coupons (which they adore and is a very cheap reward system for me! Free in fact!).

The classroom coupons can be used as another reward system, however I was targetting reading in my class.
